Born in Busan (South Korea) in 1976, Ji Myung Hoon is graduated in singing at Kyung-Hee University of Seoul; in 2001 he debuted in Don Pasquale (Ernesto) at Crawn Theatre in Seoul. In 2002 he moved to Italy and graduated in 2006 in singing at “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan.
He has participated in many international competition, awarded the first prize at “Premio Giovani Città di Brescia” (2002), first prize of the role of Duke of Mantua at “Tita Ruffo” Competition in Pisa (2003), third prize at “Jaume Aragall” in Spain (2006); second prize at “Gaetano Fraschini” Competiton in Pavia (2007).
He performed in various lyric concerts including a gala at “Festival International” at National Theatre in Bucarest and for 60th anniversary of the End of Second War concert in Milan, conducting by Gustav Kuhn.
n 2004 he has debuted in Rigoletto (Duca di Mantova) in a Tuscany tour and in 2005, in the same role, in a North Europe tour. From September to December 2006 Ji Myung Hoon was Rodolfo in a production of Bohème which has been performed in various European countries. In November and December 2007 he performedRigoletto in San Severo and Foggia and appeared in galà in Pesaro, San Severo and Milan.
In 2008 he has performed in a commemorative concert for Giafranco Masini in Reggio Emilia and in Tosca (Cavaradossi) at Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. He has recently debuted I puritani in Sassari, with a great success.
He has participated at the production of Attila (Foresto) in Lima (Perù), Christopher Franklin conductor, alongside Dimitra Theodossiou and Claudio Sgura and in Kiel forAida.
He has recently debuted at Teatro Massimo of Palermo in Bohème.
